ACE certification and supplement selling?

Hey guys... I love the idea of a supplement line to boost your income. However, I'm studying for my ACE exam and they always make mention that offering strict nutritional advice and selling supplements to clients is considered against the ACE code of ethics.

Is this just them being overly conservative in regards to possible lawsuits, or should I take what they say seriously? Obviously, people on here are selling supplements and offering nutritional advice so what's your take on this?

Are you a doctor or certified nutritionist? I'm not so it would be ethically wrong for me to professionally recommend a given vitamin or supplement. Instead, I use an extensive online program (created by doctors and nutritionists) to create a profile for my clients. Then they get the okay from the doctor before ordering.

Also, vitamins/supplements can interact with certain medications so it's really out of my spectrum of expertise to tell a client what they should take. To do so would be along the same lines as a trainer trying to give medical advice. It should never be done.
