CSCS is very hard to pass

by Brian

I am certified by the NSCA as a CSCS and am looking to get another certification (maybe NASM-CPT) I thought the CSCS was a hard test to pass, I had to retake one of the sections because I missed it by a couple of questions. I am hopping the NASM is a lot easer.

I thought I would add a couple of sample questions for you from the CSCS exam!

1. Which of the following is not a phase of the stretch shorting cycle (SSC)?

A. amortization.

B. concentric

C. eccentric

D. isometric

Answer. D isometric

2. The primary movement during the “scoop” phase of the power clean is?

A. hip flexion

B. hip extension

C. knee flexion

D. planter flexion

Answer. B hip extension

Yes CSCS is hard, but NSCA cPT is Managable
by: Katie - Admin

The CSCS is not an entry level certification so questions like these are supposed to be hard. You will likely find the NASM exam very easy after getting through the CSCS.

If you are just starting out in personal training make sure to pick one of the entry level certs rather than jumping to the premium certifications. You can always go back and get the hard core certifications later when you have more experience and knowledge.
