Cutting edge certification

by Andy

NASM is very cutting edge. They do a lot of research and always have many new and exciting concepts. One thing to keep in mind about them is that since I was first certified by them about 6 years ago they've changed their views a great deal. Without boring you with the details many of their beliefs changed around the time they split with Tom Pervis. NASM Certification is very trendy and many if not most gyms look positively on those who are NASM certified.

As far as their exams they have changed greatly over the years as well, from a written and a hands on practical to a written and video clip based practical to various other types of exams that are usually done using a computer. Check with them to see what the current exam is like.

It is good to see that NASM is not standing still. It definitely has a huge presence in the market and is a good choice for a first certification to get you started.
