Do not take the NASM test lightly.....

I am a CPT with NASM and work in a small one on one studio in my home town. I have several certifications but NASM is the one that I am currently most proud to have. Before I took the test last year I met several people at a workshop who had failed the test. This gave me great incentive to study long and hard. It paid off.
You CAN take the practice exam more than once to keep increasing your score, (ie study the sections of questions you got wrong), but there is only one practice exam on the website (so you will be repeating the questions over and over). I did find it helpful because it was an indication of what I wasn't understanding and which sections of the book I needed to review.
The only complaint I have about the entire experience is that if you PASS you never get your test results. You only know if you passed or failed. I believe if you fail they will guide you by telling you what type of questions you failed (ie anatomy, assessment, program design) and then you will have the opportunity to study those sections of the book.
If you have a good understanding of NASM's program design and understand the postural imbalances of the body you should do well. I highly recommend this certification.
