Irregular Training Scheduling

by Kris
(MA)

I am in a situation where I have a full time job and I want to do personal training part time while I keep my full time job. My problem is going to be that with my schedule I will not be able to train clients the same days every week. Is this something I can work around?? How many days a week do you typically train
clients??

Early stages of Training

I know your problem well. When I first started training I was luckily enough to be paid an hourly wage while recruiting clients. On top of that I was working at a sushi restaurant to make extra cash.
Eventualy I built my clientel up and trained full time.
Then I moved from Houston to Cali.
At the moment I am working a full time job and training clients on Saturday morning and once in a while early morning during the week.
I need 20 sessions a week to equal 40 hours of pay at the full time job. Right now I have 5 sessions. Hoping to change that soon.
What helps is to have a boss that is flexible at the full time job. If there is a way you can at least have a little flex time at the full time job then you can use it for moving clients if their schedule allows.
It is important to get a client or two that has flexibility in their own schedule also.

hard schedule

I would suggest that if you put your clients on a solid plan then whenever you are free to train them you can slip right in and be on the same page as them. Also, since you aren't seeing them on a regular scheduled day you need to keep dibs on them via phone and email, so they still feel your presence, which is super important.
