ISSA Online Exam

I understand that the ISSA online test is an open book test. Was everything on the test covered in the book? If you did the online test, did you use your course book to actually answer most or all of the questions?

The price for everything is comparable to the ACE cert price, so I wanted to check. How intense were the essay questions and case studies? I'm ready to take it, but am a bit nervous. I know a lot about the field, but testing is much different than working out in the gym or showing someone how to correctly perform an exercise.

Yes, all the ISSA test questions are covered by the book. And its an open booked test. Trust me even with open book you will have a hard time finding the answers if you do not know the text by heart. :)

I went to there seminar and it was great but, I wasn't prepared to take the test because I haven't studied for a few months. I'm taking the test at home. The home test is a lot harder. There are six essays on the home test and you have to do outside research on these questions. I've started it and it is difficult.

I'm in the process of taking my exam as I type this and I have to say you really have to do your homework for this exam. just because it's open book does not mean it's a piece of cake however. you have your thick textbook to guide you and of course internet research.. and the 6 essay's can be grueling. + 2 case studies

I took a Fitness Coarse at Rio Hondo Community College and they pretty much cover everything you need for th ISSA exam. Nowe I read the questions and they are much easier to understand. If you guys are having issues with the essay questions, google essay samples and there are websites that give you a million examples of essay with similar situations and word it out yourself.

I am currently taking my ISSA CPT test. I am pretty okay up until my case studies and 6 essays. I know I can get through it but my question is do you really use all these formulas they provide. Is it this hard? I am in great shape, Mom of 3 and self taught, most everything is clicking except all these formulas. DO I really need to know them or do I just have to get through the test?

I did not take the exam within the time frame due to illness. They let me take it, without charge, but I had to take the 8th edition exam using my 7th edition book. I did okay except for some incomplete info on the case studies and learning experiences.

Charlene, just do the test, I can't even remember using any formula's on any of the 4 courses I have done with ISSA. I am doing the SSC now, and already hold/maintain the CFT,EFT (no longer offered), and SPN. I find it time consuming, but certainly not hard.

ITs the best course ever if you train yourself enjoy fitness then the answers will come to you. I am taking more courses from these guys they may be hard but its rewarding . I am canadian and not american so I would continue to take these courses when im 60 years old and work anywhere in the world
