Marketing on my Web Site

I am a certified PT,good business skills, very fit and come from an IT background. I have read through all the information on your website about launching a business and its been very useful.I`m currently working with a developer to design my website, one thing I`m struggling with is the wording on the home page, I mean on the one hand I would like to get straight to the point and say "I`m a personal trainer covering the Manchester, area, I will train you at a location convenient to you.....etc" plus include a bit about what personal training is etc, then on the other hand I can`t help thinking I should be selling myself more and maybe giving a bit of background as to why people fail to realise their goals when they join a gym?
Basically I`m a bit confused about what approach to take to market myself and any advice you could offer would be greatly appreciated.
