NFPT compared to AFAA

I have the Personal Trainer Certification from NFPT and also AFAA Fitness Trainer. AFAA is NOT sanctioned by the NCAA. AFAA does not offer the Advanced Trainer cert as does NFPT.

I found the testing with NFPT to be more difficult and comprehensive overall.

AFAA seems more towards a balance of training and seems to be more widely accepted here in southern CA. Some people in this area have not heard of NFPT.

Given your backgroud, did you elect to go through NFPT's entire course prior to taking the test? If you did, what did you think of the manual and study guide? Thanks for taking the time to post on this site. All of the information is very useful!!!
