notice needed to leave a rented gym space for independent personal trainer

by Amanda
(Southern California)

I am an independent personal trainer and i have rented gym space from a private studio for the past year. the owner of the space has been nothing but inappropriate and rude to my clients as well as determining times when i can/cannot train clients for her own personal use (leading me to put clients on a waitlist beacuse i cannot train them at the times they are looking for).

I found a new gym i am switching my clients over to and would like to know if there is a legal time limit of when i should let the current owner know i am leaving? Or if i can just hand in my last month rent and key and FINALLY be able to train on my own time!
