Recertification fees listed dont tell the whole story

by Mille
(of the Midwest)

The recert fees show doing cecs all at top prices.
CEC's can be shopped around.
This chart might be more helpful if you just listed the actual recertification fee charged by the group.

Also, listing the ease of finding cec's for certain groups is important. It has been said by some associates that NASM ones are harder to find.
For instance, the $800 for recert with ACSM is way overblown. the actual fee is only $30 every 3 yrs compared to $79 and 99 for ACE then NASM respectively ( 2 yr renewal)

ACSM offers webinars discounted to members where EVERYONE in the room can get the cec for the ONE price.

So cec's arent $800 unless you WANT to spend that kind of money! And I wouldn't spend that to reup ANY of my certs

Additionally, many professionals will purposely hold certs from several organizations so that you can 'double recert' - that is if you hold a few certs and lets say you have a NETA, ACSM, YMCA, ACE, NASM, etc, you only need to meet the ONE agencies requirements if you only hold ONE cert with them.

Therefore - send the same CEC's with renewal fees to all your groups and you dont have to chase down a bunch of extra trainings if you dont want to ! More bang for your buck...

Cec's in this case are also not so expensive - esp as all NCCA accredited certs frequently accept cec's from other NCCA accred orgs.

It would be great if you would alter the chart to actually show the FEE, Then the # of cec's

Then pointers to get cheaper CEC's so whatever certs people get, they can learn to get quality CEC's at lower prices
