Study, Study and Study Again. I Passed First Time

by Ken
(San Diego, CA, USA)

The NASM Exam was very similar to the practice questions although only very few of the practice questions were on the test. Follow the breakdown of the questions via category as mentioned on this site i.e. 25 questions for exercise technique, 10 for nutrition etc..

If you think about it there are 75 questions relating to assessment, exercise technique and program design. Granted you should cover all of the material but focus more on those categories. Please review and know the differences between tight versus weak muscles, shortened versus lengthened, postural distortions, progressions and regressions, different tempos, volumes and intensities for the phases.

Another tip is to save a question you cannot answer for later because the answer can be found in another question. Some of the questions can be misleading so please make sure you read them before answering. Lastly, the recommendations by others on this also helped a great deal.
