24 Hour Fitness is the worst place to work.

by Joe
(West Hollywood)

They are constantly hiring trainers cause they hire 2 and 4 quit. They lie when they say that the earning potential is 85K. I mean take a look at their out of shape inexperienced trainers that only train blubbers cause those are the only victims that fall for the bad trainers. You will never see any trainer from 24 training an athlete, body builder, or anybody in good shape.

24 Hour fitness trainer and athlete

I'm a retired pro athlete and I still work as a personal trainer at 24 hour fitness and I compete nationally in figure championships...I make over 80k a year...looks like you were the one who couldn't keep up with the overwhelming business and couldn't get your own clients!

Don't EVEN try to sit there and tell us that you make/made 80K a year at 24 Hour Fitness. You are delusional if you believe that. I was a district fitness manager for 24 Hour Fitness for several years and even I didn't make anywhere near that, nor did any trainer I managed. We were in a very high-end district. Sounds to me like you drank the Koolaid (even I did at one point, so I understand) but stop blathering your propaganda to those who are fortunate enough not to work there. I used to be forced by corporate to tell all potential and actual new-hires that it was possible to make 100K a year as a trainer in our district. We even had to "invent" a trainer or two that "made" that much on the DAR (if you really work there then you know what that is) so we could persuade them to work for us. Trainers at 24 are notoriously poverty-stricken and most cannot even earn a roof-over-their-head living there. To those trainers who keep hearing about "big earners" at 24, beware and don't waste your efforts and certs there.

Why do this then?

Wow I was so excited to start a career as a personal trainer but after reading these comments, I'm turned off and yes I have seen allot of out of shape trainers at X Port 24 hr fitness, and I was told I needed a NASM certificate and I am in the process of doing that but now I'm not sure if I want to work in an industry where everyone is full of shit!
