ACE - 100 hours of practical experience?

by Michael
(New York)

What exactly is the meaning of 100 hours of practical experience? I am a 41 year old male, have coached a variety of youth sports, including a very competitive youth wrestling team. I am consider myself athletic, a competitive triathlete and two time Ironman. So i have a very good understanding of training, recovery and nutrition. Is the ACE certification right for me?

ACE is perfect for you. You sound like you have plenty enough "experience" for the ACE test. Just make sure you spend time studying the evaluation and fitness testing questions. I am ACE certified and there were very few questions on anatomy. Also know the diseases mentioned in the book specifically CAD risk factors. Another major area is program design, and what types of cardio or resistance training is proper for certain individuals based on experience or preference.
