Incompetent management at 24 Hour Fitness

by Joe the Trainer
(San Diego, Ca.)

Wow. I don't know where to even begin. This is the worst fitness company I have ever worked for. The trainers are so bad because they have to concentrate on selling training, not being professional and knowledgeable. Training is to be sold at all costs and clients are to be "undertrained" (pulling on elastic bands and postural assesments instead of real workouts) so they will have to buy more training to actually see results later.

They love to use the NASM model of wasting a session or two to "assess" the postural deficiencies of clients with overhead squat assessments and other idiotic methods. they use this to fool them into thinking that they have some sort of deviation in their posture that expensive traing can cure. If you don't follow this protocol as a trainer there you will be discipline with a written warning or worse.

After working as a trainer there I would not let a 24 Hour Fitness personal trainer even TALK to anyone I care about. Do yourself a favor and work somewhere else.
