Passed the ACTION Exam and just got my first job!

by Brandon
(Tampa, Florida)

I've been studying for the ACE exam for months now. My background is law enforcement and I had no previous experience with any of this material or subject other than what I've learned through the years at the gym and online.

I was looking for help online and that's when I stumbled on ACTION and I'm glad I did. I did the Basic (free) Plan and downloaded the text. As I said, I have no prior experience so I read through the material two times. After that I felt I was ready to take the exam. I was thrilled to have passed the exam my first time and I began calling around to find a personal trainer job.

Long story short, I landed a personal trainer job at a franchised club here in my home town two days after I passed the exam. I also have to say I emailed ACTION support to ask a question regarding insurance and I received a reply less than 24 hours later. What a relief that the material is all there for you and the staff is there to support you.

No matter if you have a certification already or going for your first, I highly recommend ACTION. Not only do I have a personal trainer certification now, I also have a job and feel like I really helped myself for the ACE exam also.

Passed ACTION, preparing for ACE

by Ben
(Des Moines, Iowa)

Hi everyone, I'm 35 yrs old and have been in sales for about twelve years. I am a former NAIA college football player and majored in Communications. (Did not finish school) BTW, OMG!

I have been studying for the ACE exam for approximately 6 weeks for about an average of 3-4 hours per day, 4.5 days per week. I am sick of the their tricky questions! That being said, I took the ACT exam without reading 1 sentence from their online textbook. The material was a little harder than I anticipated. However, I passed with a score of 81%. (Finished in about 30 mins). I guess I am now a Certified Personal Trainer! I took this test as a litmus to see where I was before taking the ACE exam. I have the ACE exam scheduled for 6-22-11.

I think ACTION does a great job of covering the essentials for what we need to know as PT's. The ACE material has sent me into deep sleep on numerous occasions. Some of the questions on the ACE practice exam are just anal, and not straight forward. For example: Go to their website and read the long drown out article about the Golgi Tendon or little GTO as they refer to it. Anyway I feel pretty confident about the ACE exam. I will post, when I am finished with the ACE Exam.

Time to start doing something I Love!!!! Just wanted to post something on here since it has been such a tremendous help! Order the questions already if your still on the fence! :)

ACTION Exam and Study Materials

by Tom
(Verona, NJ)

I passed the ACSM exam back in 2007. I downloaded the ACTION exam material back in May of 2010. It was very comprehensive and contained a lot of useful information. The best part, it is FREE! I studied on and off for a couple months and forgot about it for about 3 months. I took the exam on a spur of the moment yesterday (11/22/10)and passed with 77%.

Most of the questions I was able to answer correctly came from my experience with the ACSM exam and information I get from ACSM, reading industry magazines and online articles. I strongly recommend studying for this exam and not to take it just because it is free. Unless you have a good knowledge of all aspects of personal training, you will fail. I would recommend it as a good "first" certification, it should be paired with a accredited cert. (ACSM, ACE, NASM). I will wait to see if the organization gets a foothold in the industry or folds up! The jury is still out.
