ACE Exam materials don't cover Program Design

by Alexandra
(South Portland, ME)

The best study guide was ACE's Personal Trainer manual. It had a lot of stuff in it that I didn't know and it definitely helped me study. I wish I had the money to attend one of their seminars because I think the manual didn't cover program design enough, given the emphasis on their exam on program design. I spent around $300 total getting certified, including the exam fee and manual. Oh, and ACE requires you to be CPR certified, so that was another $75.00. The exam took me about 1 1/2 hours.

Test questions are not in the book
by: Anonymous

Ok, so i took the ace exam and didnt pass by 10 points now i have to take the exam again, and not having a clue on what to study. Trouble is we spend so much time trying to learn what we think ace wants you to know and then when you sit down to take it a curve ball comes from left field and totally kicks butt. Good luck hoping to pass the end of June if i can find out what to study that is.

ACE, MULTIPLE multiples
by: Anonymous

well,, I have taken LPN and RN state boards,, and I passed first time on both... what I do know is alittle aboaut test taking... I bought ALL the ACE study materials about 3 years ago, at 350.00..I opened a personal training biz with a seasoned trainer who taught me all the hands on...after he and I BOTH studied and tried to take the practice exam, and were more confused than ever,, I did alot more research EVERY CERT out there that is notable and recognized...the ace test is based on multiple multiples,, meaning,, it is multiple choice,, but there are SEVERAL answers and you MUST GET ALL of them correct or the whole answer is wrong... that is the MOST DIFICULT of tests to take...I have decided that it would NOT be worth my time and money to pay for ace... I need better teaching materials and one answer multiple choice test...so... I have narrowed it down at this point to NASM, ACSM, and one other one...good luck,,, who ever decides to take the ACE... but I am not going to make that my first one...
