Does Bally pay for prospecting hours?

For those of you who've worked at Ballys as a trainer, do they pay you for prospecting hours/working the gym floor? I've heard they do. What is the split per training session (how much does a level 1 trainer get paid per session)?

it depends on how many hours you train your clients per . if you book more than 20 appointments with your paying clients every 2 weeks you get a pay boost at 40 appointments you get another pay boost. level 1 trainers make like almost $13 per appointment and get it goes up to $17 per appointment if you book 20 appointments.

the trainers also make 10% commission on the down payment of the personal training package and supposedly 5% of the the monthly payments but its too convoluted and confusing to keep track of what you should be getting payed. oh and for prospecting you payed minimum wage and even that gets a bit complicated.

PROSPECTING
by: Anonymous

For your first 90 days, you will be paid minimum wage for prospecting. The company expects that after 90 days, you have already built a clientele base, and so they remove your pay during prospecting. Therefore, after you 90 days are up, you only get paid while you are with a client.

Prospecting

I've been with Bally Total Fitness for 8 months as a personal trainer. You do get paid for prospecting hours at minimum wage. The amount of hours you get will vary. As a new trainer, you will get the majority of the prospecting hours that are allowed per month. There is a cap on how many prospecting hours are given to each club, depending on the size and budget of the club. When I started, I received 30 hours for what they call "staff development" hours. Yes, if you're wondering, it's 30 hours for the whole month, which was used for additional training and servicing free workouts. Here's some free advice: don't become a personal trainer for this company if you're broke. The money will eventually come in, but it'll take time to build your client base.
