e-AFAA: PT certification offered online

I've been reading some conflicting views about whether AFAA PT certification is offered online. According to the e-AFAA learning site (www.afaa.com/103.afa), there is an option to get the PT certification completely online. Details on the program state:

"Personal Trainer Certification Online is AFAA's premiere eAFAA course, combining the industry leading personal trainer certification standards with the convenience of independent self study, and the security of third-party monitoring and authenticating systems.... Upon completion of the course, including watching all 14 streaming video lectures, participants will take an independently monitored two-hour, 120 question multiple choice exam, followed by an independently monitored practical exam with an AFAA instructor, all online!"

The course isn't cheap: it's $499 dollars. I haven't taken it yet, but was considering it as an alternative to doing the 3-day workshop. Since I work full-time, on the weekends and during the evenings, the 3-day workshop isn't an option for me.

Has anyone else gotten their AFAA certification this way?
