Golds Gym non-compete agreements

by Myle
(Seattle)

I worked for Golds Gym for a year to get myself "experience". I must admit the job had its pros and cons but for the most part the cons won. I left golds gym and plan to start my own business. I live within a one mile radius of where I was previously employed at Golds Gym (i believe the contract is no training within a 5mile radius?).
Upon leaving my clients and acquaintances from Golds said they would seek me out and suprise me at my boot camp classes I plan to teach in the local parks. Should i be legally concerned if i take any of them on as clients?
