Insurance and liability training in parent's garage gym?

by Steven
(Knoxville, TN)

Hello, I recently decided to open a gym in my dad's garage and train clients there until I have enough clients to invest in another space. A lot of the inspiration of this idea came from Zach Even Esh who started training people in his parent's garage for 5 years.

It looks like ACE's liability insurance program protects the trainer at anywhere, even at home or outdoors. My question is, does my dad's homeowners insurance matter since I'll be insured through ACE's liability insurance plans?

Also I don't know much at all about legal stuff, so what's the point in having the client sign a waiver if I do have PT liability insurance?
