My job at Bally Total Fitness

by Rahim
(Rupert, Idaho, USA)

I worked in a Bally Total Fitness Center in Idaho Falls, ID as a Personal Trainer. The job was very enjoyable and was a sociable experience, but time to time jerks would come claiming they know everything and "own" every machine they please at any given time. This created a bad environment with other people who were there to enjoy their workout, and it made me contemplate quitting a few times, but overall I was able to train people and help them with their fitness goals.

The pay was great for the hours I worked per week, and the benefits were incredible, especially for only working part time. I would recommend Bally Total Fitness to any Personal Trainer looking for a job. I would have kept working there, but had to quit when I moved to a new city.

My Bally's total work experience

by jesse hobbs
(levittown,pa,usa)

I worked at Bally's Franklin Mills location in Philadelpia during late 2003 for approx. 3 months, which turned out to be the shortest job I've ever held to date, for the following reasons:

First off,I was hired as a sales assoc.,but it seemed that I was used as a "greeter" 90% of the time. I held a brand new degree in Physical training from Temple U.,and was lead to believe that I would be doing more useful tasks that related to my field of study.

Secondly, the pay was 9.00 an hour. Not that great, but I was willing to cut my teeth by doing what needed to be done to get my feet in the door somewhere. I asked about benefits constantly, but was given the run-around in one form of an excuse each time I brought it up.

Did I like the job? I disliked the company and it's rules on sales tactics more than I did enjoy interacting with potential members or current members about there workout routines. Also, the entire place, from members to it's employees seemed as though it was a dating "meat-market". Sometimes I look back and wish I was single at the time of my employment!

In closing, I left for all of the above reasons. The total atmosphere of the sales dept. was just to sell what ever you could, no matter if the membership was reasonable or even affordable to the potential member. The constant "sharking" (thats what the guys who worked there called it) of the girls there was kind of pathetic, and after I gave my notice I actually ended up canceling my personal membership.

I love Bally Total Fitness

by Jordan Harris
(Coppell TX,USA)

Well, I worked at the Bally Total Fitness in Lewisville, Texas for two years and I loved it! The customers were great, the manager was awesome, and it was just such a fun job. I was a personal trainer. I had a lot of interaction with the customers. The pay was good, but I left because I wanted to work in Uptown Dallas. I would recommend this job to anyone!

Bally Personal Trainer

by Lane
(Broadview Heights)

Bally's is a great company to start with as a personal trainer. They teach you how to train a client so they buy more training sessions off you. If you can't sell, you won't do well. And the more certifications you have the higher the pay. Bally is good but I think FIWORKS is better.
