I'm so impressed with the data and information I found from this site. You may publish this for reference if you wish. I've been personal training now for quite a few years and known most of the compartments of information and tips explained but was nice to be reminded and at least I know I am on the path to success as processes which I implemented match the ones explained. I am just about to launch my own web site. I bought a program and have learned how to manipulate certain characteristics regarding it but there were points which you have explained in here which are just not explained in the manual. Any additional data would love to hear. All the best for the future keep up the good work.

Hello Katie,

I first off would like to thank you for sending out your helpful emails, with the information. and tips. That has truly helped me make some decisions. You have been a tremendous help. I'm just sorry to see that some people have to find fault, and maybe bash someone for helping others. Do not stop doing what you are doing. I had wondered why you had not sent out any emails in a long time. You may not remember. About a year ago I sent an email to you asking about certifications, and what I needed to do. You answered, and gave some great advise. Since that time. I have since gone on to get certified as a personal trainer, and also as an instructor for spinning classes. I'm also looking to open my own training center, in the first quarter of next year. I'm also a Regional Manager for Precor and Cybex, with my territory being Georgia and South Carolina. I'm like you, doing what I enjoy best. I never look at going to work, as work. This is fun industry. and it gets better every day.
Again thank you. Your articles are very helpful. Just do not let this one person stop you from doing what you do best.

Thank you for your site. I'm new to the process of becoming a CPT, and your site will become a primary resource for me. I recently tried to study-up on what direction I should go to become "certified" and accepted in this field. I ultimately chose ACE as my path, and it seems that your research approves of this as one choice (I wanted a NCCA accredited registrar). I needed some reassurance on my thoughts and choices, and am so thankful that I have found your site.
When I turned 29, I made a choice and decision to be actively healthy in my approach to life. I am now 46 year old, and have been studying, training, and teaching exercise and nutrition since I was 29.
Recently, with the instability of the economy, I started to think about the possibility of providing an income through something I am passionate about. I have been working in industrial corporate America for an average of 10-12 hours a day, 5-6 days a week, for almost 27 years. I started thinking that I could apply that energy toward something I like doing. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial streak in me, so I thought “let’s go for it!” But when I started to look into it, what a mess of information… Until I found your site. Again, thank you.
I am just starting down the road toward the many fitness certifications that are out there for me to obtain, and I view your website as THE resource that will help me to navigate through the deep water ahead.

not a question....just a thank you

I have been researching the NHE certification trying to check its validity because of a job posting I saw. With just about any forum I found there would always be someone asking about it and most people would not know and a few people would always jump in saying it was a good job.

Your discussion forum was the first time I have seen several people who have actually tried to take the exam participate.

Three factors have helped me make my decision: 1. the entire experience for most people was negative until a certain point in the discussion where the "propaganda team" jumped in. 2. your final post asking them to address specific questions which were never addressed. and 3. the kicker was the subsequent posts by Karl "the blazer" followed by anonymous. These two posts were totally unprofessional. Coming from those supposedly certified by an organization that has a weeding out process to only certify the highest caliber of trainers made it obvious to me that I will not waste time or money with them.

Business Plan was a Big Help

Hi Katie!
Forgive my tardiness but I have only had my blackbery and could not see this website.
Anyway I think you rock! I was impressed and so grateful to pay only ten dollars and use your example of a business plan. I am from Colorado, moved to Pasadena for a year-which is where I started my fitness business. Now we are back in Denver and I am adjusting my business plan to work in Colorado. I strive to provide excellent custiomer service at a very reasonable cost. Safety is also very important to me.
So, I want to share with you that you are making a difference and I thank you for all your support your business offers, which translates to sharing your knowledge. My realtor friend and I always joke that in both of our businesses the bar is not very high so we HAVE to show the world we are educated, honest and knowledgeable!
Anyway, best of luck. Put up your Wonderwoman shield and block out the negative! Thank you again for your awesome ideas and guidance.
