Team Beach Body Fitness

by Coty
(Eugene, OR)

I saw an ad for "Team Beach Body" to promote a business. They claim to get clients for you through their marketing campaigns. But you have to pay to join and reach a certain level before getting any leads. Anybody know anything about this?

*** Editor's Note: Here is some of their promotional text if you have not been exposed to this offer ***

Team Beachbody is a network marketing company in the health and fitness industry, and has opened its doors to the public by offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to get rewarded and even paid for helping people get healthy and fit starting with yourself. This is the best opportunity for health and fitness professionals that want to increase their client base, create residual income, and help more people get healthy and fit by working from home. They have also been recognized as the only health and fitness company to be in partnership with the American Diabetes Association to help reduce and eliminate the rates of obesity and diabetes in this country. The mission is to eliminate the rates of obesity and all other health risks associated with physical inactivity and poor nutrition habits. We want to help people change their lives for the better. Recently, they have become a national brand name and have been ranked in the Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in the world.

You can change your body and your life physically and financially with Team Beachbody! I am a Certified Personal Trainer myself, as well as an Independent Team Beachbody Coach. For me, this opportunity was a no-brainer because I want to live a healthy, happy lifestyle and help others do the same. With this opportunity, I will make more money and help more people transform their lives for the better than I ever would for a health club, gym, or fitness center.

Join us in the fight against the obesity and diabetes epidemic that is hurting this country. Your decision and commitment to getting healthy can help change the world.

Anyone can become a part of Team Beachbody...No requirements, degrees, certifications are necessary. All you need is the desire to be healthy and fit, help others, and make more money working from home. It's all online and you are there to motivate, support, and guide the customers/clients that the company gives you. That's right, they give you clients as long as you maintain your active coaching status.

Beachbody sells in-home DVD workout programs such as Hip Hop Abs, Power 90, P90X, Turbo Jam, Yoga Booty Ballet, Slim in 6, and 10-minute trainer to name a few. They also have top of the line supplements, shakes, products, retail, and accessories to help anyone have great physical success. This opportunity was designed and created for everyone that's involved to succeed. You just have to believe in it and follow it.

How I evaluate Team Beach Body
by: Dmeyers

I`m not a member of Team Beach Body. When you go to the main ( company ) website you seem to get a better picture of what this opportunity is about as opposed to what some of the marketing put out by some of its members are saying. You still have to be able to read or understand what they are actually saying, since the results from actual members may vary due to a number of reasons. One thing is sure though, ( I know the ad said...No requirements, degrees, certifications are necessary... ) you will be using the phone as a coach.

So, if you aren`t a phone kind-of-a person you might want to prepare yourself ( overcome your phobia or develop your sales / communication skills ) before paying for something that you may not initially be ready to do. Of course if you`re ready it won`t hurt if you jump right in. I can hear someone saying, " They have training! " that can only mean Team Beach Body would be more of a school for you until you graduate and be able to handle customers and recruit more coaches, not a business that you can simply get in and make a profit.( Who knows exactly when that will be? )

Yes, the fitness benefits are worth the effort,if you stick with it and can afford the cost to maintain such results.( being fit these days is not necessarily cheap! ) So in the beginning you may really ONLY be paying for a fitness program ,and not for an opportunity to make money as you had hoped!

Beachbody
by: Patrick

I have been a Team Beachbody coach since October of 2008. Team Beachbody is a community composed of fitness minded people who want to help others get in the best shape possible. I started off with the P90X program in the summer of 2008, and it was quite possibly the best fitness decision I have ever made. I became a coach after completing the program and have been earning money helping other people reach their fitness goals. I also help other people start their own coaching businesses with Team Beachbody.

Pyramid Scheme
by: Stephen

I was looking to supplement my personal training income with online training and one of the first business's I found was Team Beach Body. After making an inquiry, I received a phone call from a Beach Body coach who explained to me that it was a great way to make money. He said that it would make money by finding 2 online fitness coaches who would work under me. They in turn would find 2 online coaches under them, putting a total of 6 coaches in my "team."
To me, this sounds exactly like a pyramid scheme. He was more concerned with my ability to recruit new coaches than my ability to be a good online fitness coach (in fact, the online fitness coaching aspect was never brought up in the conversation). Perhaps it is a legitimate business, but it just seemed like a pyramid scheme to me.

Im a coach part 1
by: Anonymous

Just like any company some folks are better than others. yes, there are Beachbody Coaches that only focus on getting other coaches under them. Many more, and the philosophy of the company (my perspective) is to help other people become physically fit and healthy by following the programs Beachbody markets. I enjoy helping other people. Im not a personal trainer nor a nutritionist. I know what worked for me and know how to answer questsions about their products becuase I use them and I got results.

Im a coach part 2
by: Anonymous

I would love to get rich quick but its not going to happen. I am making some money on a regular basis that helps me cover the cost of what I was already spending with them pplus a few dollars more. The company does provide customers to me becuase I did get two coaches under me and meet other criteria spelled out on their website. I know I could make more dollars with more coaches and eventually this will happen through the support I provide to my clients to meet their goals, not mine. I make my money on additional products and services customers purchase. That part is not a pyramid at all.

The addition of coaches under me isnt a pyramid either. Its like ALL other businesses with a leader at the top and team members underneath. The top usually makes more dollars than the bottom. The bottom does work that benefits the top. The top provides support for the bottom. gee, sounds like a corporation to me.

Support for my clients comes in many forms including telephone (rarely) and mostly email. Sometimes 1:1 and sometimes just me providing information on a regular basis that helps people make smarter choices when it comes to eating and exercising. I also help keep my clients motivated by inviting them to work out with (at the same time through the BB WOWY! Super Gym). This is a great opportuntiy for anyone that has the desire to help others, is willing to work at it, and willing to spend a little bit of money to be in business for themselves. Basically Im spending less than $100 per month, have all the product I need, have the opportunity to earn unlimited dollars and the company provides about 30 clients to me per month. After 5 months in the business and two months of getting much more serious about it I now have 60 customers and a regular weekly income of between $20 and $60. Not significant but greater than zero. I spend less than one hour a day managing my business. Ive made some mistakes along the way that would have had my business at double this rate with half the expnse right now but it took me the first three months to learn that info. I can help you be successful in this business and togetehr we could grow faster than I have by myself. if the opportuntiy isnt right for you but you just want support getting healthy and fit I will do that for you free of charge. I just ask that if yo purchase something from Beachbody you do so through my beachbody website. No pressure. Just results. I just want to help people get healthy like I did.

My experience with Team Beachbody
by: Anonymous

This is NOT a pyramid scheme. I have done a half dozen MLM or Direct Marketing companies in my adulthood. They all failed miserably and I put more time, effort and money into trying to get it to "take off" in those other companies that I got back.

Not the case with Team Beachbody!! I began with TBB on May 13, 2010. I enrolled 2 new coaches in the first two weeks and then had to take the entire month of June and July off.

I got my first check from the company on May 27, 2010 (two weeks after I enrolled). I have gotten a check from the company every week since then (and they are also getting bigger and bigger, too)and I haven't worked my butt off trying to recruit a bunch of people or sell a bunch of products. As a matter of fact, BEACHBODY gives me customers (about 1 a day) from the infomercial callers!! They will also start to give me new coaches who call in to the main number inquiring if they don't have a referring coach already.

As for having to recruit more and more people, that is simply not true. You only need to have 2 active coaches on your team to be able to earn money off of the team volume (team volume is everyone you enrolled as a coach OR customer, everyone they enrolled as a coach or customer, plus the customers/coaches given to you by the company, etc.

The idea of a sponsoring coach "putting people in your team or in your downline" does not make it a PScheme. Your sponsoring coach isn't going to put people on your team if you aren't even willing to find the two people needed to become eligible for the team volume. BUT, once you do, then your entire upline coach network will be placing people in your organization. That helps produce volume, in turn helping new coaches see their volume increase which gives them incentive to learn and grow their business, too.

This is not a GET RICH QUICK scam. No one can guarantee how much any new coach will make because no new coach can guarantee how hard they will work.

BUT, IF YOU WORK THIS - even an hour or two a day like I do - YOU WILL MAKE MONEY. I am covering my car payment already and I'm only 3 months into this (with June and July taken off while I was working my busiest season at my day job).

I personally think everyone can benefit from being a coach or a customer. The products work and I feel better than I have in my whole life. Ultimately, everyone has to make their own decision but don't rule it out just because it is a MLM. By the way, we call it PHP (people helping people). Have a terrific Tuesday!

Beachbody
by: Kathy

I joined Beachbody recently after meeting a coach while talking to people auditioning with the Biggest Loser. If someone is telling you they will 'give' you people they are being deceptive.
You will need to make your own contacts to get started. Once you reach a certain level you will then be able to get leads from the companies leds program.
They have excellent products, great name recognition, good return policies, excellent customer service, etc. I will be an Emerald coach this week and I have barely had time to even start working my contact list.
It is a great second income and much less frustrating that all the people that cancel on you at the gym.
Plus I won $1000 a few weeks ago in the WOWY Supergym just for recording my workouts.
If any of you are members send me a buddy request at kdfitness

Wuh?
by: Mandy

I've been looking on and off into becoming a team BeachBody coach for about a year now. I held off because I want to begin as a one on one trainer first, and this sounds more like strictly online. There's one thing I don't understand about how this all works: when you build a list of contacts, are these supposed to be people that are TBB coaches as well? And then you get leads? To what, people who need online coaching? Or other coaches? A large part of why I went into the fitness industry is because I picked up Turbo with Chalene Johnson and I hope to become a Turbo instructor after I have a few years of training under my belt. So if a client of mine comes to me and says they need ideas for cardio workouts because being on a machine is boring, of course I'm going to recommend a Turbo class and tell them to check out Beachbody.com. My thinking is if I become a coach I can get a little commission off this, or am I thinking about this in totally the wrong way?

YOU HAVE TO DO THE WORK
by: Anonymous

I signed up to be a coach in Nov. 2010 & made $25.00 that month, but the person said they couldn't afford the product anymore. I love the products. It will cost you more than $15. monthly to do this. You will need a personal website (other than TBBC) & you will need to learn how to direct traffic to that site. You will no doubt need to purchase 3rd party tools to present to prospects. I became unemployed in Dec. 2010, so I $0. & became totally discouraged. The main thing is setting up the website & learning how to direct traffic to it. Don't expect anyone (upline) to teach you this. Once you learn to do this & have been using the products, you will be able to earn $$$.

Things to know
by: Kat

Before joining beachbody as a coach please read the contract. To get free leads from the company you have to be a specific level pin. There are fees and required amounts of purchases to be considered active.
Just like any company that is worthwhile you will have to put in the work!
There is potential to make lots of money but there is the potential to lose money too.
