Team Fitness America

by James

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone has had any contact or worked with Team Fitness America? They provide in-home training clients and reportedly pay between 25-35/session.

I have read only one negative review of the company. Other articles about them are simply press releases.

So any information that would help? Are the reputable, a scam, do they actually pay?

Thanks.

James

Scam or Real?
by: TonyV67

Hey James, I too was trying to find info on this company and came up with something on Ripoffreport.com saying that this company has been doing this since 1990 scamming people. That report provided a contact to the Tampa division of the FBI, so I just e-mailed them to try to get some more information. Please let me know if you have found more on them since you began your search.

It would be great if something like this would be legit...but it's not looking like it is.

Thank you so much for commenting on Team Fitness America. I was doing my research before giving them a call (as per their email). I saw the scam reports on them as well. Guess it's best to stay away.

I have a Team Fitness America trainer
by: Anonymous

I have purchased 40 sessions and have so far had 10. The trainer is quite knowledgable about fitness and nutrition, but not very experienced as a trainer so the workout doesn't flow smoothly. I am guessing that is how they keep prices down.

Team Fitness America

I am working with Team Fitness America since February 2010. Yes, they do pay $25/hour.The problem is ... I still have only 3 clients. So, if you want to make a good money with TFA it will take a while.

I am not liking this company. They send you off to a client and then you end up training two people for the price of one. Second every time their is a client near by they seem to be gone all the time. Me I'm not doing this anymore.

WAS a Trainer for Team Fitness America
by: Anonymous

In 2009 I lost my job due to the economy but was working part time in a gym as a trainer and instructor. I looked into TFA as a way to make more money but only got a few clients early in the morning and it just wasn't worth it for me. They pay 25/hour and if you have 30-40 minute travel time you're making 10-12.50/hour.

In my experience they are not a scam. You fill in you're time sheet, fax it in and you get paid. They just don't pay enough in my opinion.

Hope this helps

Team Fitness America is a Scam on America!
by: Anonymous

I was "interviewed" for a job, and was told in a rude manner that they did not promise any minimum number of hours, do not provide any equipment or training, and that they make all trainers sign a broad noncompete that they cannot do any other work in the fitness business. This woman called me from a "private number" and was not knowledgeable about fitness.

Its a huge scam! Stay AWAY!

I NEVER Heard back from them!
by: Anonymous

I applied and called them an they were nasty on the phone seemed very shady. I am with hometraininggroup.com and so far so good and I like the story behind the company and owner so I am happy to support this company! I have two jobs through them and it's just extra to my gym work so I don't mind. I have been training for over ten years and I like the trainers that I see on their website and Team Fitness just looks shady... Good Luck!

Breach of Contract
by: Anonymous

This company is in breach of contract. I worked for them in good faith and they haven't the guts to tell me I'm not getting paid! In fact, I didn't know they went under, until a client told me over the telephone! What kind of Mickey Mouse nonsense is that. If, and when, this company decides to reorganize I certainly won't enter into a contract with them ever again. Oh, and while we're at it, I will be at the bankruptcy hearing to object. They owe me money and I intend to collect.

They never told me to stop working and they continued to take money from my clients!!! What should I do ? my clients and I want to get a lawyer- I dont know anyother trainer for this company- if any have had a simmilar experience I would like to talk and take action.

I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau of Washington DC
against Fit2Max(Team Fitness America) and owner Margaret De Filippo (who also goes by another name). They owe me money and bank fees. They owe my client 11 workouts.
I entered into a good faith contract and feel taken.

Taken For A Ride
by: Anonymous

I'm owed money from Team Fitness America as well. After calling a lawyer, the best I could do was write a letter to the lawyer who represents this scam artist. If I want to file in small claims court, the costs involved would almost mirror the amount TFA owes me. Perhaps the best we can do is file a class action suit. In any case, I will never work for another in home personal training company. The last thing I need is to be burned again.

Scam Artists
by: Anonymous

I almost became a customer of this company, but after reading articles of Alan Prior's former business' scams, I decided to not move forward with it. It seems to me that this company was only put in Margaret De Flippio's ... or Margaret Pajak's name to take heat off of Alan Prior's previous scams.

Legal Action?
by: Anonymous

With regard to Team Fitness America, I found a local FBI office if anyone is interested on taking their scam to the authorities. They've done this in Florida and now Pennsylvania. What's to say they won't try it again in another state?

Dont waste your time with Team Fitness America! I signed on as a personal trainer with them, and was only fed 1 client per month. None ever came through. You're better off working at a local gym, or as an independent contractor. Hope this helps!

I had no problems...I received plenty of clients and was paid well. I always received my paychecks in the mail on time every other friday.
So...I don't understand why everyone is saying they are a scam...anyway, I hope this was helpful.

This is to let everyone know that this company does not exist anymore.
I was a trainer with them and for 2010 they were fine and in 2011 I got a check and it bounced and they do not even call back and they sent me a 1099misc with an amount I did not earn. They are a disgrace to other real fitness companies..

stay away from this company. I worked as a PT for them in house clients and they went under and I rec'd a check which bounced and they changed their number, lots of clients got cheated and now they are trying to make money from PT and cheat us too. I lost $200 since last april and when they sent the misc 1099 they doubled the amount and showing the IRS that they paid me. The best people to report is to the IRS they get penalized when they cheat the IRS..
