Personal Training Accreditation
I often get asked (and sometimes accused) why we sometimes misspell words like accreditation on our site.
It is not a lack of proof reading... We use misspelled phrases on purposes because people enter misspelled phrases into search engines. For example, we could build a web page that is designed to optimize a phrase like "personal training accreditation" (like this page), but it has a lot of competition on the search engines. It can take years to work your way onto the front page for such competitive terms.
However, if we optimize the page for a common misspelling like "personal training accredidation", we are straight to the #1 spot on many search engines. Of course, it all depends on how many people misspell the word when searching, but we have great tools to help us understand this phenomenon.
How do we do it?
I have been quite open about our "secret weapon" when building this web site. In fact, I pretty much spell out how personal trainers can win the local search engine war here. Meaning if somebody searches for "personal trainer <your location>, you want to be the top result. And it is surprisingly easy because there just aren't that many web sites targeting content for "personal trainer Hoboken" or wherever you live.
